**5-Day Sri Lanka Solo Travel Itinerary**

If you’re planning a trip to Sri Lanka and want to experience its beauty and culture in a short time, here’s a simple plan based on my trip:

**Day 1: Colombo to Kandy**

* Arrive in Colombo and take a train or bus to Kandy (about 3-4 hours)
* Visit the **Temple of the Tooth** and stroll around Kandy Lake
* Enjoy local food at a small restaurant

**Day 2: Kandy to Ella (Train Journey)**

* Take the scenic train ride from Kandy to Ella (one of the world’s most beautiful routes)
* Relax in Ella town and visit the **Nine Arches Bridge**
* Hike up **Little Adam’s Peak** for sunset views

**Day 3: Ella to South Coast Beaches**

* Travel to Mirissa or Unawatuna beach by bus or taxi (3-4 hours)
* Relax on the beach, swim, or try surfing
* Enjoy seafood dinner by the beach

**Day 4: Explore Beaches & Local Life**

* Visit nearby attractions like **Galle Fort** (a UNESCO World Heritage Site)
* Watch stilt fishermen and enjoy fresh coconut water
* Evening at the beach watching the sunset

**Day 5: Cultural Day - Sigiriya & Ancient Cities**

* Early morning trip to **Sigiriya Rock Fortress** — climb to the top for incredible views
* Explore nearby ancient city ruins at **Polonnaruwa** or **Anuradhapura** (if time permits)
* Return to Colombo or next destination
